bike tour with paths for people (now full)

Paths for People is leading a whirlwind sampler bike tour to all central shops (no Variant Edition or suburbs). The guided tour will spend 10 minutes at each bookstore, lasting approximately 3.5 hours and covering 17 km at a relaxed pace. No major hills. Bike friendly routes and safety in numbers. Bring a pannier if you’ll be shopping! More info on our their website.

The Whirlwind Sampler bike tour is now at capacity, but Paths for People has created a Google Maps route map for others wanting to organize their own bike tour! View below.

Central Indie Bookstore Crawl by Queer Joy YEG

Queer Joy YEG has put together a guide for a ‘Mile End’ style bookstore crawl of independent shops in North-Central Edmonton. Organize a group of friends to do your own self-directed crawl on bike, transit, scooter or other mode, using the map as a suggested route. The map has been updated for 2025 and can be downloaded as a PDF from their website, queerjoyyeg.ca.

we are grateful to be here.

Edmonton is known as amiskwacîwâskihikan in Cree (Beaver Hills House), and is located on Treaty 6 territory, the homeland of the Métis Nation. This is the traditional land and gathering place of many First Nations including the Néhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Nakoda (Stoney), Dene, and Anishinaabe (Ojibway/Saulteaux), and home to of one of the largest communities of Inuit south of the 60th parallel.

Indigenous stories matter. We encourage readers to join with us in learning, decolonizing, and truth-telling in the best ways we know how, as we journey the road to reconciliation together.
