MAGPIE BOOKS IN THEIR OWN WORDS
Magpie Books is a small, independent bookstore in the neighbourhood of Ritchie in amiskwacîwâskihikan. Our curation prioritises literature written by Indigenous, Black, racialized, and queer and trans authors. We carry fiction, nonfiction, books for young readers, cookbooks and more! A small but mighty space, perfect for browsing and finding some hidden gems.
We are modelled structurally as a workers co-operative; employees and shareholders make the same hourly wage, and decisions are made collectively.
We value community care and mutual aid. Bookseller owned and operated.
We feel blessed to work and live in and with the prairies.
